‘the avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance’
There is a growing awareness to make eco friendly choices in todays society and here at Asian Food Republic we are doing the best we can to be a part of this.
We are proud of our products and wanted to create a sustainable way for you to enjoy them in the comfort of your home. Upon learning that most single use packaging can never be recycled due to the contamination of food, we made the conscious choice to put all of our products in containers made from fully compostable materials. We wanted to provide you with the most eco-friendly packaging we could, using materials such as sugar cane pulp and FSC® certified paper for our trays which are fully recyclable or compostable and our outer sleeves are made from 100% NZ recycled paper.
We are happy to spend that little bit of extra time researching the best packaging options for our products and are excited to source from New Zealand based companies that share the same environmental values as us.
We wanted to make green choices by using glass bottles and jars for our sauces and salts as they can be readily recycled at home or re-used to store your own products. Cardboard and plastics can also be recycled at home and even soft plastic packaging can now be recycled at certain locations.
We strive to incorporate green initiatives where we can into our business practises.
When creating our products, we aim to produce as minimal amount of wastage as possible by only making what we need for orders. This ensures you will receive the highest quality and freshness from our products and know they have been made with little to no excess waste.
The boxes and containers that our fresh produce is delivered in always gets recycled or used for other purposes. It is important for us to reduce our carbon footprint by using as few imported products as we can, so we choose to work with local suppliers which also ensures the highest quality coming directly from the source.
We have always chosen to use free range and organic ingredients as we believe that ethically raised meats and produce with less use of pesticides creates an overall better quality of food for our customers.
